October 2008 "Hot Button" Survey Results
The
October survey asked how your product budget will change in 2009.
Budget cuts hurt, and more than half of you could use some
Extra-Strength Excedrin in 2009.
The
largest group of respondents say their budgets will decrease by more
than 10%. They blame the uncertain economy for affecting their markets,
especially if their market is the financial services industry.
One
respondent commented, "Although my product budget won't be cut, I won't
be getting any increase. Working smarter is the key to taking advantage
of engineering and QA resources by bundling like new products and
features."
What great timing for our complimentary webinar: "How to Thrive in Any Economic Environment." In
this webinar, recorded on 11/14, we share strategies to uncover new
opportunities for your product, sharpen your vision of the market with
a smaller budget, and create alliances to get critical work done. It's
all about creating maximum value for your company, coming from two
veteran product managers who have seen previous downturns and thrived!
